The event marking the 90th anniversary of Anton Faistauer's death allowed Viennese organ music of the fin de siècle to meet texts from this period. Magdalena Hasibeder played works by the great role models of musicians around 1900 - Anton Bruckner and Johannes Brahms - as well as by composers who remained attached to the Romantic style until the 1920s.
Alexander Tschernek read texts from Stefan Zweig's Die Welt von Gestern. In it, the writer, who was a friend of the painter, remembers the time before the wars. Projected music by Anton Faistauer accompanied the event from the PIPE HYPE series.

The inclusion of a new work by Anton Faistauer in the Maishofen parish church was celebrated with a solemn mass. The stained glass window created in 1927/28, which shows the adoration of the shepherds and the Three Magi and was created from a stage design for the Salzburg Festival, was made available as a permanent loan by the MAK – Museum for Applied Arts in Vienna.
The Vokalensemble Maishofen as well as Eva Höck (organ) and Gerhard Schwaiger (trumpet) provided the music for the service, Dr. Rainald Franz, curator at the MAK, explained the artwork from his collection.

At the end of May, the Weg der Kostbarkeiten [Path of Treasures] initiated by Hermann Mayrhofer was opened, bringing together six artists associated with the communities of Leogang, Saalfelden, Maishofen, Zell am See-Thumersbach, Bramberg and Kitzbühel.
This year's excursion of the AFF led to a station on this path: to the Kitzbühel Museum with the Alfons Walde (1891–1958) collection. Continue to Salzburg to visit the first major exhibition on the work of our AFF co-founder Richard Hirschbäck (1937–2007) in the Stadtgalerie Lehen.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Stefan Zweig's death, the Salzburg Museum dedicated an exhibition to the writer that focused on his years in exile and the famous Schachnovelle. It was compiled by Klemens Renoldner, who presented his new book in Schloss Kammer last year.
Dr. Renoldner guided the members of the AFF through the exhibition and then through the Stefan Zweig Center in Edmundsburg am Mönchsberg, which he manages. Zweig was good friends with Anton Faistauer, and they exchanged letters with each other.

The AFF and the municipality of Maishofen invited to a trip to Salzburg to see the state exhibition Bischof. Kaiser. Jedermann. 200 Jahre Salzburg bei Österreich. The exhibits from antiquity to the present also included two large-format Faistauer paintings that the painter had created in Maishofen and Salzburg.
Another item on the program was a visit to the parish church in Morzg. It houses Faistauer's little-known fresco cycle on the life of the Virgin Mary, a work of great harmony and vivid colors from the years 1922/23.

Vierfleck oder Das Glück
Katharina Geiser, a Swiss writer, gave a reading from her latest novel, which brings alive four decades of german history (1900–1944). Based on historic facts Ms Geiser weaves a subtle story about a “ménage-a-quatre” with Christiane von Hofmannsthal (daughter of the Poet) and the indologist Heinrich Zimmer, thereby also touching the last years of Anton Faistauer’s life.
